I've neglected my blog for far too long. I'm not proud of that, but I have a pretty good reason. For the past two years I have been working on a novel that has really pushed my creativity and my writing ability. It certainly hasn't been easy, let me tell ya.
I finally typed "The End" in March of last year and put it away for a few weeks. Then I read back through it and took note of how completely awful it was. From there I started the slow process of revising.
Then revising again.
Then a bit of a rewrite.
Then an editorial review.
Then more revising and rewriting.
Then a line edit.
And more revising and rewriting (though not quite as much).
Finally, I got to a point where the story was as good as I could possibly make it, so I sent it off to various publishers. I'd have to say that the weeks after these submissions was arguably harder than writing the first draft or any of the editing process. I'm not sure what the record is for refreshing your email, but I'm pretty sure I came close.
Today I can say that the hard work paid off! I have signed a three book deal with Castle Gate Press to publish my fantasy series! I was very excited to get the news, and after speaking to them over the phone I'm even more pumped to get things rolling.
Now I'll begin the process of several rounds of edits, along with choosing a cover and figuring out how to let people know about the first book in the series. It will be some time next year when the book releases, but I will be posting updates on the title, details about the book, and other news that will pop up.
I'm so thankful that I've been given an opportunity to witness through my writing. All of my stories will contain messages of God's love and I hope you'll enjoy reading them as much as I enjoy writing them.
